Hey Friends,
Recently, Secretary John Kerry, the special presidential envoy for climate change appointed me to prepare a white paper on the India-U.S. decarbonization policy. This project will be used to establish ways of decarbonizing India’s coal dependent industries while addressing its multifaceted concerns. A big nation such as India is confronted with issues like availability of indigenous fuels, fuel security, electrification-based community development and limited government support policies plus economic resources.
Also, India has a shortage of suitable subsurface stores for CO2. However, carbon capture from air technology coupled with electrolysis to produce green hydrogen can work wonders here. In particular, it is crucial for backstopping intermittent wind and solar renewable resources for grid stability.
Green fuels are also important in industry hence green ammonia or industrial nitrogen produced by using green hydrogen could reduce CO2 emissions in coal plants. Another opportunity exists in Indian cement manufacturing infrastructure where decarbonization can take place.
India’s move towards green hydrogen usage to produce carbon capturing materials for making plastics plays a vital role in sustainable growth and fighting climate change. Likewise, approaches aimed at reducing the global carbon footprint must be tailor made with regard to individual countries’ contexts. A sustainable future lies in our hands if we embrace technological advancement, policy backing, and prudent allocation of resources.
Please find below the link to read and download the white paper. You can also share your opinions about it. Let us produce meaningful talks as we unite to foster positive transformation for our sustainable planet. Thanks.
